SWEET SUNNAH PREMIUM

COMPANY INFO
Sweet Sunnah is a family-owned business based in Liberty, New York, where both manufacturing and packaging are carried out at their 12,000 sq. ft. facility. The company offers a range of natural herbal supplements, with black seed oil appearing to be one of their core products. For some reason, Sweet Sunnah company has no official website.
● On March 20, 2025, we reached out via email requesting detailed information and any existing lab analyses related to their black seed oil. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response. All information presented here was obtained through independent research using publicly available online sources.
It is worth noting that only three companies responded to our email inquiries: Piping Rock, Bionatal, and Prime Natural.
PACKING AND SAFETY SEAL
The product is packaged in a standard amber glass bottle with a plastic cap, consistent with what many black seed oil providers use in the U.S. market. A transparent shrink wrap is applied to the cap, but during removal, the cap broke easily due to its thin material. Inside, there is only a standard liner, and no foil seal on the bottle neck.
● The seal does not appear to be strong enough to prevent leakage — especially under hot conditions, when black seed oil can expand by up to 20% during transportation.

SEEDS ORIGIN
There are two sources that claim Sweet Sunnah Premium black seed oil is made from Turkish seeds: a promotional image on Amazon and the product description on the company’s website. However, the product label includes a disclaimer stating that the seeds are cultivated in various parts of the world, and that color and taste may vary from batch to batch. As a result, it’s unclear whether the Premium oil is consistently produced using Turkish seeds, or if the source may change depending on availability.

OIL DISCRIPTION
The oil has a light yellow, cloudy appearance, accompanied by a pleasant herbal aroma and moderate bitterness.
In our opinion, this oil is virtually identical in color, flavor, and bitterness to several well-known Turkish black seed oil brands, including Piping Rock, Zhou Nutrition, Prime Natural, Kiva, Amazing Herbs Premium, and Maju. It also shows minor differences when compared to Freshfield, Healths Harmony, Rawya, and Rawya Extra Strong.

THYMOQUINONE (TQ)
The product label does not indicate the thymoquinone (TQ) level. However, we found an advertising image on Amazon claiming a TQ content of 17.1 mg/g, which translates to 1.71%.

This figure aligns closely with estimated TQ levels in other Turkish black seed oil brands, although none of these companies have publicly released lab certificates confirming TQ levels:
-
Maju, Rawya, Rawya Extra Strong – Minimum 2%
-
Freshfield – 1.64%
-
Kiva, Prime Natural – Over 1.5%
-
Amazing Herbs Premium – Minimum 1.2%
● These variations are common with Turkish black seed oil and can be attributed to differences in farm elevation and climatic conditions across the country—particularly between the cooler Black Sea coast in the north and the warmer Mediterranean coast in the south.
Additionally, we found a separate promotional image on Amazon featuring the claim “3X TMQ,” which presumably refers to “three times more thymoquinone.” However, this statement is highly questionable, as it lacks context — three times more than what? Furthermore, “TMQ” is not a recognized abbreviation for thymoquinone in scientific or lab settings, suggesting this may be a misleading or outdated marketing claim.

Industry Clarifications:
(The following industry points are worth noting)
-
"Unrefined" ≠ Non-Filtered: Even unrefined oils are typically filtered and don’t contain seed particles.
-
"Cold Press" misuse on the label: The term is widely used without proof. True cold pressing should be validated by testing for compounds like Benzo(a)pyrene and related PAHs.
-
"Organic" ≠ Pesticide-Free: USDA standards still allow natural pesticides (§§ 205.601 - 205.602). No Nigella sativa seeds are entirely free from them.
-
"Non-GMO" claims are unnecessary: Nigella sativa is not genetically modified, and global demand doesn’t justify GMO cultivation.
FINAL RANKING #4-B
Positions #1 and #2 in our ranking are unquestionably held by the world’s most potent black seed oils—both extracted from Ethiopian Nigella sativa seeds.
Position #3 (including sub-positions A through D) is occupied by a group of Turkish black seed oils that are slightly more bitter than other Turkish-sourced brands. This minor edge in potency earns them a spot above the rest of the Turkish oils, though they still rank below the superior Ethiopian oils.
Position #4 is held by all remaining Turkish black seed oil brands, which showed a standard, medium level of bitterness with no noticeable differences even after extensive testing. The task here is to assign sub-positions based on brand transparency, consistency, and overall credibility.
Sweet Sunnah is awarded sub-position “B” in this category. While it performs similarly in taste and potency, it falls short of Amazing Herbs — who earned sub-position “A” — in terms of transparency and long-standing supply chain reliability. Additionally, Sweet Sunnah’s label notes that each batch may vary due to the use of different seed sources, which introduces inconsistency in product quality.
